Tēnā koutou, my name is Jessica Brown. I was born in Australia and am Aboriginal European. I am a Kaitūhono/Connector with Mana Whaikaha.
I have direct experience in my immediate family of autism, mental health and behaviours that are not well understood within society.
I have international experience working with a variety of different communities. I am a strong advocate in my own family and have experience negotiating the justice system. I am passionate about human rights and making sure people have the best life outcomes.
I am a coach for the Special Olympics Manawatu football team. I have a passion for sport and being active. I love the speedway, making crafts, designing my own clothes and playing guitar.
I have extensive community connections and I am really looking forward to working with young adults through to elderly people in this region.
I am eager to commence walking alongside people in their lives and to see the potential each one of us has.
