Hi all. My name is Moira and I am super excited to be part of the Mana Whaikaha – Enabling Good Lives team.
I am a single mum of a 23 year old who has had specialist needs since the age of 13. She still lives at home and likely will for some time yet. We live in Bunnythorpe, which is halfway between Feilding and Palmerston North. I really enjoy the semi-rural lifestyle and my great neighbours.
In my spare time I love to read, play social darts(I emphasise the word social), and spending time with my friends and family.
Prior to this role I co-ordinated housing modifications for people with disabilities and injuries on behalf of the Ministry of Health and ACC. I have great knowledge of cost-effective design and build solutions to meet individual's needs.
Also, over the years I have had experience dealing with mental health services, which has been very challenging.
I strongly believe that:
- all people have the right to live a life that they choose, and
- anyone can follow their dreams and their passions to achieve a fulfilling and satisfying life.
My passion would be to work alongside young adults through to older people. I look forward to connecting with you.
