I.Lead conference application

Mana Whaikaha in partnership with the Horowhenua District Council wants to assist 3 young disabled people to the I.Lead Conference in Wellington on 3-4 September 2019.

I.Lead is New Zealand's first-ever conference for youth with disabilities. Over two days, 50-60 young people with disabilities aged 18-28 will come together. These young people have an interest in making a difference and are connected to a disability organisation. Discussing the challenges and identifying potential solutions to present these to decision-makers.

To go you need to:

  • be able to attend the whole conference
  • be aged between 18 and 28 years old
  • have a Disability
  • live in the Horowhenua
  • have an interest in making a difference in your communities.

Mana Whaikaha in partnership with the Horowhenua District Council will:

  • pay for the conference fee
  • pay for transport to and from Wellington
  • organise and pay for your accommodation
  • pay for transport between your accommodation and the conference venue.

You will need to tell us why you want to go to the I.Lead conference.

Somethings you might like to think about are:

  • how you will be a leader in your community

  • what strengths you have.

If you are chosen to go Mana Whaikaha will need to talk to you about what you will need to do. 

If you are chosen you will need to organise your own accessible supports for the conference.
