Supporting Decision Making Workshop

Mana Whaikaha with IHC Advocacy are running workshops for disabled people and their whānau to learn about supported decision making. This workshop will help you to talk about making choices, advocating for yourself or people you care about, and supporting each other to prepare for the future.

We will spend time working in groups and give you time to talk with your peers and your whānau about what’s important to you.

We will explore ways to support each other to make choices. As well as how we can talk through things when they feel hard.

Everyone can build on their knowledge of rights and responsibilities so that we all know why it is important.

There will be information that you can take home with you.

On the next page there are the dates and locations of the workshops. You can choose which one you would like to attend with your whānau.

These workshops are free and we will provide food.

If you have any questions or to let us know if you are coming to a workshop, please email Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

NZSL interpreters are available on request. When you let us know which workshop you want to attend, please let us know if you need an interpreter present.
