Mana Whaikaha is a disability support system which gives disabled people and their whanau more choice and control over their supports.
Mana Whaikaha is funded by the New Zealand Government, through the Ministry of Health.
The Mana Whaikaha korero reflects people’s strength, mana (influence, dignity) and mauri (life essence), and this was central when naming this new system.

The Ministry of Health have adopted a ‘try, learn and adjust’ approach to support the development of Mana Whaikaha. This approach involves trying things, getting feedback on what’s working, and making changes.
